Andy,I have a technical question. I have seen your adv. in Trade-a-Plane and looking at the Hat you have.
You are using a short body, Per- 1960 Piston engine Aero Commander with the Round Nacelles like an early 680/560.
You 58N was a long body Turbo Prop Aero Commander 681 and looks more like the 690 Turbo Props.
They look very different. What is the reason for using the wrong photo?
How soon can we expect to see the Movie?

  Tom & the Commander Group,

I appreciate the time you took in checking out the link http://igg.me/at/58November/x/1678943 . I do understand your concerns on ads. You all do have my word that will not happen again.

I do hope you will all look at the site and help us make the 58 November project a reality. No one person can make anything happen in life. This is no different. As they said in the movie The Right Stuff, "No Bucks, No Buck Rogers"

This is a YouTube video of my father trying to negotiate with the FBI agents in Jacksonville just before their raid was executed. These are the actual ATC tapes and some of my father's last known words.
You will see a picture of my father's 681 Turbo Commander on the screen
  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mySNO2IKyQs

If any of you know where a 681 Turbo Commander is located these days I would love to contact the owner. My father's Commander (N-9058N) is now in the Broward County Community College being used as a maintenance plane for future A&P's

If any of you can help please contact me. I do appreciate your concerns and your support

  Thanks,

				Good eye Tylor....
I at the time I did the art work I could not find a suitable picture of a 681 Turbo Commander. If anyone has a good photo at that same angle I would love to incorporate it into the title card.

The film will be ready about 140 days after I raise the funding.
Currently I have about 12 interviews to complete in Jacksonville, Atlanta and Nashville. I have located 3 FBI agents who were involved on the ramp at JAX, the ATC Chief in JAX, the Federal Judge that heard the air piracy criminal trial against the surviving hijacking Bobby Wayne Wallace, and many other eyewitnesses and attorneys.

I have shot about 25% of the film over the last 6 years and am out of funding. It has taken years to collect the documents from the FBI and National Archives. To date I have over 11,000 files from FBI and court records.

This is a private url address I have posted some info on just for those interested. Pease be aware that there are crime scene photos on this site. I think it would go unsaid that you please not distribute these unless you ask me. What you will see is the last photo of my father ever taken.

You will also see the FBI Policy Manual on Hijacking that governed the FBI agent's actions. These documents go straight to the heart of the Pilot-In-Command issues and authority that has eroded over the past decade.
Additionally you will see the handwritten note from J Edgar Hoover ordering commendations for the agents in Jacksonville.
  http://imgur.com/a/t3vU3

I have other info for those that would like to help out.

This story is not just about my family loss. It goes to every pilot in the sky who will find themselves being ignored by authorities if they are ever in a hijacking crisis.

I look forward to your thoughts.

One note, this url I sent you http://imgur.com/a/t3vU3
does not have my father's picture in it. The pictures are of the victim Susan Gogge and the Hijacker George Giffe

It also contain emails with FBI-FOIA officials, FBI policy manuals and FBI memos from J Edgar Hoover.

This url address contains two picture of the 681 Commander and the bullet holes through the windshield next to where my father was killed.

I feel if a Commander product/interest is offered to the list it's to the benefit of all. If I am trying to sell you a good block of stocks in the Brooklyn Bridge, I agree that would be inappropriate, but to have a blanket ban on Commander stuff/interests is not serving the community. Just don't respond and move on.
I appreciate folks advertising their wares on the list. One day someone might just put something on the list that someone else is looking for, or remember it was offered before. I remember many occasions where this has happened. Struts, instruments, cylinders, propellers, many things have changed hands through this list by folks who advertised their stuff.
We have Commander sponsors on our website, I invite Commander providers to advertise on the Commander Facebook page; it's what makes the world go around.
 So, there is my speech.

PS. You wanna piece of the Brooklyn bridge?

				Andy,

Thank you for sharing such a poignant piece of history, I have indeed read all your posts and would gladly read more. Have you considered writing the full story on a short book, booklet or blog? I see you have one, but I saw bits and pieces but not an entire story put together.

For example I still can't figure out if the hijacker survived or not (it seems that on one of the TV news they were saying he had survived; but you also mentioned he shot himself).

Anyways, my point is that may be the story could start taking off on its own as a book, best seller of sort and then it could be further developed as a documentary.

Sorry for your terrible loss and best regards to your family and you have our support in any ways we can.

If in your research or travel you have to stay close to SFO, let us know, we will gladly take care of you in Santa Cruz (only 1 hr south).

As far as 681 pictures you have to query "Aero Commander" or "Twin Commander" or "Aerocommander" "Rockwell Commander" several picture sites and pick up the 680V, 681, Turbo Commander, 690. I would look in:

 For ex at www.airliners.net:

If any of you know where a 681 Turbo Commander is located these days I would love to contact the owner. My father's Commander (N-9058N) is now in the Broward County Community College being used as a maintenance plane for future A&P's

If any of you can help please contact me. I do appreciate your concerns and your support

    Thanks,
    Andy Downs
