Robert,
I've been using a product called Clear View in a spray can and
microfiber towels to polish and
clean the canopy. It works great and the microfiber towels can be
bought at any local Farm & Fleet
or automotive store. Just water with microfiber towels works well for
removing bugs too.

Tracy,
Over the years I've tried many products and finally settled on a cleaner/polish from LP Aero http://www.lpaero.com/accessories.html
There are many good products out there which would work just as well, but often the other aspects of window cleaning are ignored.
You must remember that the plastic of the canopy will easily scratch.... using paper towels and sponges is often the equivalent of going at it with fine sandpaper. If you ever did a microscopic exam of a paper towel you would find small particles of grit embedded in it. There are some new ones specially made for cleaning plastic (DuPont Sontara AC Window Wipes) but I haven't tried them yet.
The procedure I recommend is to use plenty of preferably warm water (with a drop of dish soap added to break surface tension) work the bugs off with your bare fingers and wipe with a piece of clean 100% cotton flannel. You can then use the damp cloth to apply the polish and then wipe it off with a dry one. I had my wife buy a couple of yards of flannel and cut it into 1 foot squares which I store in a big ziplock bag. You will never eliminate all scratches but you can slow down their accumulation. LP Aero also has the full text of their maintenance instructions at http://www.lpaero.com/CAREINS.pdf
Good luck!

Robert,
The Clear View can be ordered from Aircraft Spruce and it's as good as
anything, but
microfiber cloth is the more important choice because it's used to
polish anything acrylic
and it doesn't scratch at all. Slightly more cost, but they are also
washable.

Aircraft Spruce carries it. $3.95 for an 8-oz. spray bottle or $10.90
for 64-oz. They also carry the Novus #2 and #3 for light and heavy
scratch removal. I've also used those with good results. Other places
sell Novus plastic polish but A. S. seems the have about the lowest
price.
