Hi Mark,
You should be home now, I bet.
|
'We've all done it', but this sounds like person to person email that
got out to a mailing list.
So Jon, if that's the case, maybe as penance you'll have to write
something more to the list to say how things were at Sun 'n' Fun, and
what you saw of the CH 750.
You brought the topics up...

Hey Peter and all...

I bet they never let me in the back room of Zenith after that last email..
All of the execs were at the show, and I was alone with the office staff
picking up parts, so I didnt get any particulars about the plane other than
what Mark just wrote about it...
Spent just 2 days at Sun n Fun... drove down from Wisconsin and spent the
rest of the time at the beach down there... but it was fun to walk around as
usual... I noticed that Kitfox and Sonex vendors were absent.... my
impression is that the vendor participation may be down... and I really MISS
the full color MAP of the grounds they use to hand out, now replaced by a
black and white newsprint version. And, the EAA had a flyer handout when
registering that said in the past they use to have a small gift for members
in their booth, but THIS year no gift as all of your money is going to the
EAA instead to perform their mission... hmm....
What impressed me the most was how many small aircraft have those nifty
glass panels in them now... and vendors have them all lit up on display...
amazing how a few years can change things so fast. And I always stop by the
big metal buildings to pick up new catalogs... got one from AC Spruce... and
Wicks only had LAST years out there... so it was a little lighter carrying
my 'XM satellite' bag around! Dont forget to get a free copy of Trade a
Plane.... It was fun to watch the 701 take off from the UL strip.. Zenith
did have another booth in the UL area! Weather was excellent. Very nice
seeing everyone at the BBQ.. Easy to recognize metal plane builders by the
scars and cuts in their fingers from pre-deburred aluminum edges.. You can
almost tell from looking into someone's eyes whether they are still building
OR are finished and flying..... those that havent started the build seem to
have the same look as those that are finished and flying....
And thats the extent of my story and Im sticking to it...!
