I watched about 10 videos and I noticed that the pilots don't go much higher
than 3 feet, is there a good reason for that?

Will,

The 2cyl version is interesting because it has a claimed weight of 84 lbs and includes a gear reduction with a clutch plus a starter. That's only 2 lbs more than Rotax claims for the 447.

My biggest concern is the fact that it uses a Reed Valve.

It certainly is worth looking into. I saw the little chopper fly at Osh 2 years ago and it was impressive. Their booth was next to Kolb's.

Yeah, playing for the the crowd and cammera. In some places their area for demostration is limited, and leaving the area requires clearence. There are many other videos available on the web site, some showing forward flight.
