While most folks were long gone from Sun n Fun by Sunday, they missed Sunday/Monday performances by the Aerostars, a 3-ship Yak 52TW team based in Northern IL. Good performances with some original moves. It seemed a little strange to hear only the deep rumble of the engines rather than screech of prop tips going sonic. I was used to lots of prop noise from the T-6's of AeroShell and 450 stearmans of the Red Barons so it was an interesting contrast. BTW, the 52TW makes a fine plane to watch as a spectator. Not too small, good looking in the air, just about the right speed to keep the performance in close to the crowd.

Thanks for the nice review Craig. Hopefully we'll get down next year too. If so, maybe we can arrive a few days earlier and I can get an oppurtunity to throw back a beer or two with the RPA contingent.
