An incredibly complex issue.

Although we are becoming more and more "unified" different countries operate differently.

I believe that there are no charges for VFR flights below a certain weight.

However we pay vastly more than Americans for most things:

  • 100LL is now over US $9 a gallon in many places.
  • You are likely to pay a landing fee of at least US $15 to land almost anywhere, and often far more.
  • We now have EASA - an entire level of bureaucracy above our National CAA's, with commensurate additional costs.
  • Our paperwork charges are immense - they can often be at least US $1,000 simply for the paperwork relating to an annual.

Thanks for the info. I we US general aviation pilots sit idlely by we are going to get eaten by the bureaucracy.
