<?xml:namespace prefix="v" /><?xml:namespace prefix="o" /><![endif]--> Need some help from the 912 drivers. Got a friend in hanger next door who has 700 rpm drop on mag A. Mag B is 300 as it should be. He has checked everything with ohm meter and can find nothing wrong. Has contacted the factory boys and they haven't been able to help. Any ideas from you guys?

Thanks for your ideas

Here is a couple of items I would look at.
1. Spark plugs, get new ones installed.
2. Check each spark plug cap. Look inside, feel the tang engage.( this was my problem)
3. Ohm check the coils, but swap the inputs side to side to get the problem to transfer.
4 Then swap outputs. trigger coils etc.

What RPM is he using for his mag ck?

Dee,

Paul's response kindled some memory. The only time I had this problem was
after moving the ignition module to the oil tank mount. I had to lengthed
two of the ignition wires to accommodate the new position.

What I found despite carefully marking both wires, I still ran the wires to
the wrong cylinders, I believe 1 and 3. The rpm drop on run-up was like you
describe.
