Just remember to not wash the suit in fabric softener, wear cotton underneath, keep it clean from oils, and wear a loose fitting flight suit, It is for flash fire protection mainly as stated before.

 After all, those faded green almost brown  ones you found in the surplus store for a song got there for a reason. They were the ones turned back in for new ones.
