Dang, Thom, you sure(ly) know how to hurt an old guy!

I had a half of a Aeronca C-3 with a 3 cyl 37.5 hp Szekly (pronounced
shay-kay) in '40. My partner was showing off by doing 360s around his
girl friend's windmill, ran out of stick, airspeed and altitude. Both
halves, and both guys, but not me, were not repairable.

Think it weighed only abt 1000# and would have been a great
Sport...instead it was a Splaaaat.
regards,
Bob N. FireFly 070 Old Kolb

Old Bob,

I'm not sure you can really use this word describing a C-3 but there is a "beautiful" C-3 about 60 miles south of me at Dart Field (D79). There is a flying museum of sorts there and a good restaurant on field. For those Kolbers inclined to fly all over the country, if you make it up this way again in the summer, this place is worth a stop. They have lots of UL type and LSA type fly-ins every summer. The last one this season was last week-end.
