Anyone see this yet? Stein, got any info? Price, availability, selling to the experimental market? Looks pretty sweet.

I just read the brief write up of SmartDeck in Flying (11/07).
The system looks beautiful and I especially like the center console
(CCU). There is no mention of the experimental market but rather that
the "launch airplane for the Smart Deck will be revealed later this
year" and that once announced will become standard for that plane. The
test bed for the unit featured in Flying is an SR22. Hummmm hint, hint?
Maybe Cirrus is tired of Avidyne or they could get a much better deal
from L3 to give SmartDeck instant creditability.
When speaking to Columbia at SNF this year they mentioned that
once they started offering the G1000 and the Avidyne they didn't sell
another Avidyne equipped plane for 3+ months. Also a friend of mine
traded in a new C-210 for a deal on an Avidyne equipped Turbo Saratoga.
He got about $100K off list right around the time Piper started offering
the G1000.
Tim's last post is more proof of his brain power. I cannot make
heads or tails out of SmartDeck's pricing. Bring your checkbook!

I was looking at that this morning after the AOPA email newsletter mentioned it. Looks like some neat stuff. It has some gorgeous graphics.
I was happy to see another 2” attitude indicator option until I saw the $8k price tag for it. All the “stand by” gear in their price list is in the $40k plus range so I didn’t invest too much time getting excited about it.
But regardless I’m very happy to see new entries in the market.
Best Regards,
