I would like to thank Zed Smith for his solution to my tachometer
problem. Yes you do need a 1K resistor across the leads of the tach to
make it work right at rpm's above 3000. The tach has no name on it but
is part of the Zenith instrument package.
Today was the first chance I had to run the 912S at max rpm. I
initially set my prop at 11.5 degrees and it maxed on the ground at
5700. I will leave it there at least until I get some flight time. I
have reached the point where I can now call for an appointment to get it
inspected an hopefully fly it before the end to the year.
