Hi Herve

A few thoughts from a not yet flyin 914 owner:
Are both of your carbs opening full?
Are you getting 2 to 5PSI over airbox pressure?
How many hours you have on motor? Do you run a lot of 100LL? If you run 100LL do you run Alcor or TCP? Did you run differential compression test, how was it?
What type of prop you have, is it CS or pilot adjustable?
You absolute certain wastegate is free and easy to move and is closing all the way?
Do you have a intercooler? What is ambient temperature where you are having problem and at what altitude?
What does trying one mag then the other show?
Did you try shutting off TCU and use throttle to adjust turbo for a quick test?

You can check the turbo blade rotation by carefully inserting a 12 point socket wrench into the turbo after spraying the bearing with Mouse Milk or similar lubricant. I think the size wrench is 10mm but not positive. That solved my problem. Gentle is the word and if all else fails you can send the turbo to Lockwood.

Double check the little pressure lines, 3-way valve, pressure and temp

sensors, throttle potentiometer.
Did you make sure the potentiometer setting are (still) correct. Redo
the pot setting operation with your laptop.
While you'e at it, remember to check the TCU parameters during operation.
Detailed info in the 914 manuals.

After that, apart from obvious problems, you may start to suspect some
mechanical failure.

All the best,

My impeller coked up once - had to dismantle it and clean it. By the way I
use 100% 100ll.

Also my waste gate stuck once for no apparent reason.

Discribing EXACTLY when the problem occurs may help find the problem. Eg.
start of ground roll after release of brakes,
6.4 seconds after going to full power....... etc etc.

knowing if a fault is predictable and repeatable is half the battle of
finding it. Given the wealth of knowledge that seems to be
behind this list i would bet someone has seen simmilar. I had a Tommahawk
that did a simmilar thing, passed run up tests
fine, but loss of power on take off, turned out to be a bent push rod for
one of the exhaust valves.

We had this too. The earth to one of the px sensors had failed
(airbox I think) in the TCU multi pin plug and was causing the TCU to
motor the wastegate fully open. You should be able to troubleshoot it
by using the rotax TCU program and a multi meter. We spliced in a new
earth at the sensor and it has run fine ever since.
