Can anyone tell me why the flap torque tube rod ends changed from the Hiems M44-14 and F44-14 in the earlier AA5's parts book to the GAES500-1 and 501-2 in the latter 78/79 book and the reason for change. Looking to replace the GAES rod ends and would like a source. Fletchair have not had to source before. Can supply pictures of both types if it helps.

Hi Ian,
This is a good question. I've looked at those joints on my plane many
times when I've changed the flap position 1/2 turn at a time. I
thought they were Hiem joints.
Any idea which are the better parts?
