Hi ... I am new to this listserv. I currently have a 1976 Tiger (owned for 9 years now, based at JNX), live in the Raleigh area and have about 800 hours. I have been thinking of building an RV7A for sometime now but I have never actually flown one. I've seen a few of them around and admired the planes and the performance specs are clearly exciting ... but before I tackle a project this big I was hoping I could meet some local builders and maybe get someone to take me for a ride to get a feel for the plane in flight. I'd pay for gas of course or trade for equivalent 'demo' ride in a nice Tiger ... anyone out there that can assist with this? All my contact info is below. Thanks in advance from a hopefully future RV owner!

Dave:
Should not be hard to arrange ... there are several RVs in the Raleigh area .. I am based in Greensboro ... my brother lives in Garner also. I fly an -8A but if none of the -7 or -7As speak up .. I would be happy to give you a ride. Paul Franzon flies a -4 out of the Raleigh area and flies alot of formation with us in the Charlotte area ... you should catch a ride with Paul to one of our practices and you will have your choice of the different RVs to ride in ... including Tad Sargeant's -7A.

Dave,
I'm in Cary, and while I don't have a -flying- RV-7 (yet) I do have
one under construction that you are welcome to come take a look at.
I do know an RV-7 owner in the area (Apex), and can probably talk
him into giving you a ride. It rarely takes much in the way of any
real arm twisting to get him to go flying. I also know of an RV-8
owner at JNX and another at TTA who would probably both be happy to
give you a ride as well.
Let me know if any of these possibilities is of interest, and we'll
work something out.
