John,
I don’t have Gary’s test cell report in front of me, but if memory serves me, his engine is producing the same numbers as Mike, Deems and Robins as well as many others. Gary’s is the first RV-10 engine we built with the Cold Air Induction.

This was discussed in May of 2007. The thread was pretty much identical
last time. Here was my response from the past. I'll leave the spelling and
grammar errors so we can all enjoy them again!
"I contacted them a while back to inquire about using it with the hartzell
that Van's sells and they said it would not work. The hartzell uses a back
plate aft of the propeller and their 14" spinner is designed to with a
mounting plate in front of the propeller."
I don't know if they have a different product available now a days though.

Don’t forget barometric pressure and humidity play a major roll in the HP game. The day we ran Mikes engine we were at 100% humidity with blue bird skies! I hate running engines in the summer J

Hmm, they seem to do custom work. I wonder if they would have enough interest from is they would come up with one to fit the hartzells. I'll let you all know if I find anything new out.

The concern should always be present and is greater when the build
quality is not first rate. The number is safely VAN conservative and
there are steps and features which can be built into the aircraft to
attain a more reasonable reduction of flutter.
The Rockets have figured out both the (Ken Scott) propaganda and the
feature improvements.
The official VANS word is not more than a +/- 10% deviation. Hence 26
more ponies = 276bhp at MSL. A few simple alterations makes for a safer
airframe.

Could someone get me a measurement from the Prop Flange to the Cowling Front? I talked with Whirlwind today and they have a 14" spinner (the aerobatic spinner) but needs to get some measurements to see if it will direct bolt on.
TIA

I would definitely be interested in a cheaper alternative for the hartzell.
