  leave that skinny tail wheel on your plane  have  your wife make you a Pizza and pratice your spot landing skills over it and see  good you can slice up the pizza with it.

        Hi Bill,
         
        I believe those 5 inch wheels were originally used        on snowmobiles.  They're called bogey wheels and are used to        support the snowmobile track as it rotates.  Makes for a nice        light tail wheel, but it does cut a groove into soft turf.  I        was thinking about installing two wheels side by side for more        support.  Kinda like a Dually (Dualie?) pick-up truck!

 I have taken wheels off of junk scooters the kids ride...
 
  Their about the same size , but not as narrow...
 
 Their neoprene , kinda see thru...
