Dana- How much crosswind did you have? Obviously, enough to get your attention. Did you run out of rudder? How about added throttle?

Well, I wasn't taking measurements at the moment. Chester was due to
windward of Goodspeed and just far enough away that the 12G18 would be
arriving just as I landed, about 80° crosswind from the right... though
Chester is up on the hilltop and Goodspeed is down in the river valley, so
it was probably less, but more mechanical turbulence. The windsock was
straight out at times, though, and I assume it's a 15 knot windsock like
most. I flew final at idle but added a touch of throttle as I flared.
I always run out of rudder trying to slip it... of course slips really
don't do much good in an US, but I was a bit high and wanted to do
everything possible to get it on the ground and not have to go around
again. Biggest problem was running out of aileron, the US rolls pretty
slow and I was back and forth against the stops keeping the wings level on
final. The actual touchdown was almost an anticlimax (though far from the
smoothest I've ever made!) and it took a jab of left brake to keep it on
the runway.
