Good to hear that I am not the only one. I was a new member the first
time I got abused from him. He has bounced mine about 5 times ... all
times had grumman questions not to his liking i guess. The funny thing
is there was a post about selling a computer on there a few days ago
(as far as I could tell no grumman connection... must be his bud.

If I make it to the convention I will look him up for sure ...
although I am going to say only one word! Last year I pulled out of
going specifically because of not getting a few questions through and
getting abused on the one that did get through.

As far as the CCO, I was going to get a membership with them when I
was looking at a cardinal. I sent a question to them asking for a list
of A&P's in the Utah area to do a pre-buy. They basically said i had
to get a membership to get the info .... Good thing though because it
stalled me long enough to find my Tiger.

Hey Thomas, welcome to Team Grumman and the freindlier side of the
community. In addition to this venue there is the AYA forum as well. No
membership required there either.

Hope to meet in Burlington.

We shall not cease from exploration.
And at the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive were we started
And know the place for the first time - T. S. Eliot

bout it (I'm sure you have). You made a decision based on the actions
of one person, who is well known to have a thin skin, and who had
nothing to
do with planning the convention.

Actually it was not just based on one person. As I said ...A few of
the questions I got through I got flammed and throttled pretty good.
At that point it seemed like a group of jerks with big egos. There
were some shinning lights in the group that actually seemed to try to
help rather than call you stupid or a jerk while reading things into
the question that were not there.
I just had more insults then help at that point though and the GG Nazi
was just putting a cherry on the pie.
The biggest flame I got was when i was asking questions about re-
sealing the fuel tank. I was having issues getting the access covers
off. There were many, meaning at least 4-5 that called me stupid. There
reasons varied with some being that i should be working without an A
&P. You see I didnt mention that in my question. Well in fact I was
but the guy was out of town and wouldnt be back till the weekend was
over. But i dont want to rehash it ... There were a few that actually
just answered the question but they were well outnumbered that time.
In the end the last people used the wrong sealant on the covers and it
was a painful process to get them off that just took time. And with
the help I got I am still leak free over a year later.

Now I understand people like me may not sometimes give all the
information needed to answer a question. And you dont flame the person
for not providing the info ... you just post saying you need a little
more info ... but as in the question above that is not the case. It
was just unneeded if they felt the needed to know for my own good.
Man just thinking about it makes me upset.

As others have pointed out, there are other forums. But Mark's was
there a
long time ago, and will probably continue to be the medium of choice
for a
long time to come.

Doesnt make him any less of a jerk
