Time is approaching for that big trip to OSH.
This year looks very active thunderstorm season. I can't time the "wave action" that these CBs move with, but you can bet we'll most likely see them while we're en route to and at OSH. I hope I am wrong.
Remember to bring your own tie-downs (rope and stake). These and control locks are very cheap insurance. It does not take much wind to damage a loose control.
En route you 396/496 guys will have it made BUT still stay well clear. In the airline industry we were always advise to clear a CB by 10nm. Fear of lighting would you think? There is that tendency to think that 10 nm is a bit much, but I've personally witness a cloud to cloud strike, that easily was that distance. Remember, lighting isn't hit you personally - you just happened to make it easier for it to go to ground.
Starting to plan my flight. Looking forward to it and seeing yawl up there.
