We are getting ready to install our ELT.  We have made an extra access panel just in front of the aft bulkhead, on the floor of our HDS.  It is big enough to mount the ELT on the inside of the access port. If we do this, when we unscrew the port cover, the ELT will come off with the port cover.  Here is the question.  In the United States, will this violate any  FAR mounting instructions.  If so, can some one tell me which FAR would be violated?
