Hi all,
I'll be driving down to Florida with my girlfriend at the end of the week.
The mission - Scout out several flight schools where I can finish up my
CFI/CFII/MEI and where she can finish up her
Commercial/Multi/Instrument...Would there be anybody along the I-95
corridor, or down in Florida that we could overnight with? We're looking at
possibly staying in Atlanta, Jacksonville, Vero Beach...and? Not sure if the
schools will put us up!
Well, just an idea...! I can be reached anytime off-group.

Sounds good but don't let the possibility of a slipping gear box get too
far
back in your memory. I spent weeks and over $2500. on a $2.00 fix. The
slipping "C" box is a known problem as the Rotax Bulletin points out. I
wore the list out with my "surging" RPM problems. I think Bruce Harrington
hit on the box early but I ignored his valuable advice. Finally when I
called Lockwood to describe my situation I wasn't half finished when he
said, "YOUR GEARBOX IS SLIPPING! Actually, I managed to use the same
gasket
so the cost of repair wasn't even $2.00.

Well Andrew, that makes it bad timing on my part times
2. I live in Rockledge about 45 minutes North of
Vero, E. of 95. But I just flew up to KY to turn in
my taxes and drive my van down to Fl with my last
moving load. Won't be around when you are there. 
Second I'll miss the big Titusville airshow going on
next weekend, 11th and 12th I believe. They have a
air museum there too. I found out about it too late,
but you could make up the difference if you make it.
 Supposed to be a great one - best for eastern FL.

Arghhh...that's too bad! I'll take lots of pictures if I get the chance to

Atlanta is not anywhere near I-95, it is on I-75 and I-85 though. Where are
you coming from?

I've driven the route from NH to FL several times...I take I-95 down to
I-75. Usually stop in Altanta, then head down south again! Coming from
Nashua, NH...
