Hi Guys,
I am a Brit living in Matthews NC looking to build an RV 9. Before I buy a new set of tools are there any used tools available or is this not a good way to go. Looking for information on how to do it right.

Hi Simon,
Welcome. I live outside Matthews in Union County, down Potter road. I have a Rv-6A out at Goose Creek Airport. The Rv-9 is an excellent choice and we have several local guys build them.
This list as well as the RV list is probably the best source of finding used tools. Sometimes e bay also has some good buys.

Hi Simon, and welcome. Ed mentioned this list and the RV list. I would add that the classified section on Doug Reeves' Van's Air Force site would also be a good source, if you have not already looked there. (You may have, I didn't check.)

Simon,
Welcome aboard.
As Ed mentioned there are a few RV’s based at Goose Creek. His rotary powered RV-6A, an RV-4, -8, -7A, -10, and my -9. There are two other RV-9’s under construction in Rock Hill that will be almost identical to mine. (Tip-up tail draggers)
I do know of a very nice -9A that might be coming up for sale in the near future, to the right home.
Have you contacted the local EAA chapter? There are a number of very talented builders in that group. The web site is www.eaa309.org.
