It Flew!

Well, another Kitfox left the ground today for the first time. My Series 5 

TD ZK-RJA  took to the air just 2 hours back and it flew like a DREAM!! I 

had to do a second circuit as I was so over the world I didn't sort of take 

it in...The engine being a self modified EA 81 Turbo EFI with own made PSRU 

was the mysterious bit but it went well too. So big check over tomorrow.

Double congratulations to you man! That is great that you built the airplane

and the engine and PSRU! Tell us more about the plane and the flight. I bet

you are still up in the air, even though your feet are on the ground.

test pilots, so maybe I'm (the plane that is) not that far behind you.

I'll bet it is, John....I just got word from my flight instructor that 

"1 or 2 more lessons and you'll be ready to start taildragger 

transition"...the words I've been waiting to hear!  It won't be long 

now.

I started out as a crop duster before I progressed (some might question 

progress) onto helis so I got the tail dragger thing sorted and I found the 

Fox a wee darling compaired to some. Mind you, it's early days ha ha, it'll 

bite me for sure sooner or later. You are in for some real fun Lynn.John

getting so much wonderful help and advice from this great list. Not that I'm 

there yet, did some more circs today and flies beautifully but getting a wee

Your last comment reminded me of my reaction during the early hours.  I 

couldn't believe how well it flew.  I still have those feelings from time to 

time and I am definitely on a bit of a high after every flight and that 

after a lot of flights.
