I WANT TO WISH ALL OF YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.  I also want to remind everyone that this is a celibration of the birthday of our risen savior, Praise GOD!!  Yes, I know he was not really born in the winter and that many other myths surround his birth.  But all of that aside, this is a time that we set aside to honor him.  God gave each of us an opportunity to have eternal life in the presence of the creator of the universe.  That plan has Jesus at its center and today we celibate his coming to earth as a baby.  My Christmas prayer is that where ever you are, what ever your beliefs are, that you will take a moment to reflect on why the world stops what it is doing and honored this day.  Merry Christmas to all!!  Remember that God created the guys who created the Aero Commander!! Cap'n JimBob.....I join you in wishing all a Happy Holiday  to all including those poor souls who spent much of it stuck in airports or  highway rest stops due to the crazy weather from coast to coast & border to  border. I also concur that GOD must have created the men who created the Aero  Commander.....but that begs the question: who created the men that created the  FAA????? Dan the snow covered Desert Duck

A merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year to you  all. The celebrations of the former is over and the latter is a week away, but  we celebrate the truth behind it all year round.

Commanders,



I always dreamed to be around airplanes, I always thought I would be a pilot and do what my father was doing, somehow it did not work that way.



After crossing my path with you, I have been paying much closer attention  to aviation and at times wonder if I should just throw every thing over board and start all over again...



At least, if I get more serious with it, I certainly know where I would start to ask for advice! It has been such a joy to meet you all, in person for those who came for the FLY IN, & through posts for the rest. Even if it is quite at times, I have also enjoyed reading the archives. I have already said this, but I just wish my father could have shared you all.



I just came back from my Mom's, and I snagged a few pictures from the family album; it might help you understand my appreciation for the plane.



Through you, I have revived family history and I am in a way "studying" my father and go through what he had to deal once upon a time.



Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and time; looking forward to seen you next year and hope that you all can survive these difficult times coming ahead. Stay Healthy!

However you do it, get yourself in the air. Go in as partners on an old Cub, 

Champ or T-Craft.... Join a local soaring club. Find a local EAA chapter and 

start putting together something that gives you what you want from aviation. 

Volunteer at a museum. See a rising dawn in your ultralight. Work part time 

for a busy mechanic. Work towards an instructor's ticket. It's all good. 

Don't live with such a regret. There's lots of different ways in.

We are going to try and get Peter a little stick time next year.  I fly my 

560E to Van Wert, Ohio most every July for a family reunion, weather 

permitting and Peter is only about a hundred miles north or slightly less. 

We are hopping to get together next year and go flying.
