Dan:

Thanks for your vast knowledge in this matter.

I know many people who voted for Obama who are hard working and have executive jobs as well as some voters working blue collar jobs.

It is good to know that everyone who voted Republican are hard workers and Democratic voters are lazy citizens.

Thanks for the enlightenment.

I’m very thankful this holiday season to know you are all-knowing and have everything under control for all of us.

I don’t know how I could have been so mistaken. Oh yes and I thought it was socialist the the Republican president is allowing the government to own preferred stock in private banks... Oops I guess now they are quasi private quasi government banks.

Dan, do I ever agree. I would like to go back to the 50’s when crooks were crooks and victims were the good guys. This country was founded on if you don’t work you don’t eat.

Gentlemen;

I fail to see any reason to go from an opinion, and that is how I view Dan's comments to a personal attack on an individual.

Please, we gain nothing!

What a nice holiday wish!

What a surprise, the perpetually angry white wealthy guys don't think anything is wrong except with everyone else. It must feel very good to know you're always right about everything, don't make mistakes, and that you hate all the right people. You're the only people who work hard, love their Country and love their Constitution. And God is behind only you. Anyone disagreeing with you is feared, hated, despised as a traitor, or insane.

You guys need fear and hate..... Use it, or my gosh.... you might have to bear responsibility and actually have to work with people for solutions. Much easier to blame everything on the gays, or the blacks, or the jews, the democrats, the socialists, the commies.....

Seems like we might need to tweak gument a little. Some things didn't work out so good. Though I spose if your main concern is putting gas into your twin-engined aircraft, everything probably looks just fine.

I'd like to chime in, politely, since many people are bent on this. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Obama is now our president. I'll respect him for that. I believe the job molds the man, too. Some of his campaign rhetoric was just plain stupid and shame on the people for allowing any politician to dupe them in that manner. It's as if the people are clicking into idiot-mode when they listen to political campaign speeches.

But there is nothing anyone can do about it now. Obama is our president and there is hope, too: Hope that the job will mold the man and that the ignorance he displayed during his campaign will be replaced by hard-core reality. He is already flip-flopping to the reality side on issues that will definitely irritate those who voted for him on socialist issues. He is already rethinking tax increases in this economy (which begs the question, if tax increases are bad in a bad economy, why would it be good in a good economy), he is already showing a hard stance on the Palestinian issue as opposed to his ignorant utterances on Georgia, and so on. So, I see positive moves and I route for him to make more such moves and not remain stuck on his positions expressed during the campaign.

It is us who are in the accuser's box for allowing politicians to move all over the political spectrum buying in to that nonsense. But the process is what it is and it wasn't first tried here in the U.S. Even in Roman times 2,000 years ago people complained about the same things we do today. So, it's been around for a while. It is, however, healthy to analyze, self-audit and consider where we stand in terms of the manner in which we practice our politics and make corrections if we are found to be at fault.

For instance, during Bush 43's term, hatred, wicked lies, and vile rhetoric did more damage to the country than anything the president ever did. The practitioners of these despicable acts acted without regard for this nation and they were ready to inflict damage beyond any measure. When the war, for which these same adulterers of the truth voted, turned difficult, as wars oftentimes do, the personal trade in misinformation and vitriol escalated beyond belief. What would have been the correct and less costly (in terms of dollars and lives) response? I believe it was Trent Lott (could be wrong about the name but it was a Republican senator) that said, "We are not going to criticize a sitting president in time of war" after Bill Clinton launched a war, far less justified than Iraq, for dubious reasons and fiercely criticized by Republicans. That was the right and mature thing to do when one has this nation's best interests at heart and consider the office of the president above one's own interests. Bush is now bending over backwards to mitigate the damage of a failing economy (a disaster which the operators of Obama's party created) for the new president and make his transition to power as smoothly as possible for the sake of the nation, not particularly for Obama the individual nor the Democratic Party. Compare that to Bill Clinton and his cronies who tried to cause as much damage as they could to make it as difficult as possible for Bush to transit to power. The petty crime of stealing all the W-keys off the keyboards was rather humorous, but it was an illustration of a much deeper resentment for this nation than what the deed demonstrated. We should not believe for a moment their attacks were against G.W. personally. It was and still is against this nation and its institutions. And that would cause emotions to flare up but we should refrain from becoming like them. My position has always been, honest and necessary opposition excluded, their acts and philosophy are anti-American and foreign to our culture, much like pathogens that consist of healthy tissue in their own right but they are lethal to the host in their purpose.

We should also learn who we are opposing here. Many good, patriotic and loyal citizens are demagogued because they are Democrats, and we're wasting energy and resources that ought to be directed at the pathogens of our society -- those who wouldn't think twice to destroy the principles on which this unique and excellent nation was built. This cancer that already left Europe incapacitated, on life-support and in intensive care is already evident here.

Two decades or so ago one could have made a case that the Democratic Party provided a safe haven for those pathogens, but that is not the case at all today; it is as rife and perhaps more dangerous in the Republican Party than anywhere else because we wouldn't expect to receive siren-songs from that corner. In my opinion that was more of a cause why so many conservatives voted for Obama than anything else. Even though he had nothing but rhetoric, he was basically an empty suit, but what he didn't have was what made him a more palatable choice than the Republican candidate, who was chosen by our opponents. Unfortunately, it will take a revolution in the Democratic and Republican parties for the new president to be fully molded to reality and that is where the rub lies. Will Obama be a realist and buck the objectives of the pathogens in his party? Will the Republicans have the courage to rid itself of the pathogens in its system? We have no choice but to wait and see. The captain will board the ship on the 20th of next month and he will set sail as he sees fit. We should not chop holes in the ship if we don't like him, like the pathogens did to Captain Bush.

The Christian's position is that all authority is given by Christ as revealed in the Bible alone, not the Quran, or the Kama Sutra or some hieroglyphic stone-inscription. Unbelievers ought not to get all bent out of shape because of this, it is what the Christian doctrine teaches and you don't have to believe it to acknowledge it. If Obama is president because of the will of Christ, then we should show him the respect of the office he holds for the sake of Christ who put him there. It is, then, also unavoidable to conclude that there is a purpose for which Obama has been raised up to be our leader at this time. We cannot fully know what that purpose is, but we can certainly, respectfully, speculate. Perhaps the Democratic and Republican parties have to be split wide open separating the pathogens from the healthy tissue of our nation, much like a surgeon would cut cancerous cells away from healthy tissue to save the patient. I firmly believe that God retracted, for a time, the effective presence of the Holy Spirit from us as a nation, which allowed evil to do what it naturally does, flourishing wildly, resulting in the attack on 9/11 to come over us (speculating:) to reveal the evil among us as it became evident in the aftermath; (speculating:) to split the Muslims into two camps, those who are still functioning in a 7th century culture and those that tasted liberty, in the U.S.; (speculating:) to bring reality to those nations that would have supported terrorism believing it's politically correct to do so; (speculating:) to bring the issue of evil among us to the public forum.

I don't believe that Obama has been called to inflict so much damage on our nation that there will be a second civil war required to heal our nation. There are too many believers that will be consumed in the process if we consider Abraham's petition before God regarding Sodom. Neither do I believe that Obama will be so far off reality that he will not diligently protect our nation, in the mold of President Bush, from terrorist attacks on home-soil. (There are already moves afoot to maintain the surveillance program that had the pathogens so up in arms when Bush practiced it.) What is certain, is that the next two- and four-year periods will be deciding watersheds for our nation, given to heal us; we should act accordingly, and decisively, without fear, but always honorably. If the surgeon hesitates, the patient is lost.

That is my New Year's message to you all. Thank you all for being aviators, lovers of all things nautical and of the atmosphere which carries us aloft at great speeds with vistas unimaginable a mere century before. Thank you for being lovers of Aero Commanders, great ships that brought pleasure to so many.

May God bless you all.

Nico

Well "bowser" is a slighty more esoteric word. I KNOW who John Galt
is...he's the man who stopped the motor of the world!
