Hi All,

I understand from Chuck at Trio Avionics that there are already Europas flying in the UK with the Trio Altitude Hold. If so, can anyone kindly tell me the LAA Mod number.

Regards,

Mike

Mike

I have just finished the standard mod (SM10507) and it is now up on the LAA site. This covers autopilot installation for the Navaid, Trio and TruTrak single axis only.

I have not heard of an altitude hold mod and I would have expected Andy Draper to mention it if one had been submitted. If you get no reply from others I suggest you ring Andy at LAA.

If one does exist then please let me know and I will work it up for approval as a standard mod.

Ian,

Thanks for that. I suspect that my installation for the Europa may be a first. I will press on and you are welcome to the information as it unfolds.

regards,

Mike

Mike

Tony Higgins (G-CHAH) has been in touch with me by telephone. He has purchased and fitted altitude hold. His inspector has seen the installation and has said it looks OK but he can not sign it off as no mod application has been made. I have agreed to work with Tony to produce a standard mod as this would then be usable by all. He will send me what photos and details he has next week.

I would be pleased to have whatever details you have worked out so I can compare them with what Tony sends. It would be very helpful if you would agree to become the prototype for the mod.

Tony also has one of the few successful Jaburopa installations this side

of the pond. There may be one more, G-BYFG, a tri gear. It was damaged
last summer, (nose gear knocked off) not sure if it is flying again yet

As Duncan says several RVs have the Trio including mine. It's very good and I would fit it again.

Cheers
