Hate to bother, but I'm installing Van's Naca vents and the square flange touches the bottom of the instrument panel bottom cross member. I don't think it's a big deal and I assume a little trimming might be in order, but thought I'd run it by first.

I had to trim not only the top but the leading edge of the duct flange. It hit the veticle post.

It is very close fit. just trim a bit. I put a 426-3 flush rivet in he front to get the position correct. then pro sealed it in to its final position. I also figure that you do not want the bottom too low or you might get some water accumulation there. Also be sure to sand it a bit before installing to get it ready for painting later.
