I have dual sticks in my 601XL/650 and because I'm 6'6" , I'm considering doing away with the center console. The challenge is then placement of the fuel selector. Any ideas?

Larry, my biggest concern would be instability of the cockpit cavity in a collapse. The center console certainly provides some bracing to help offset the rather dismal performance of a "bathtub" when end loaded.

Hi Larry
Is this possible? as the centre console will add stiffness to the cockpit
and provide some lateral bracing to the bottom of the instrument panel?
As I'm short ass of only 5'10" I will keep the centre console!!!
Looking at the parts list for the Dual Stick Option (page 6-XN-24) this
shows upright panels forward of the centre spar with two angles 6K2-4 which
are not shown on my drawing 6-K-2 rev 03/03 or noted in any of the
subsequent drawing revisions. Can anyone advise their size, length and
material thickness?
Many thanks in advance.

I appreciate the concern, but would tell everyone that the idea of leaving out the center console came from Roger at ZAC. He said if he was building a 650, he would leave it out to avoid the cramping effect of the center console. Apparently lateral stability is not his concern.

I'd have to agree. I'm working on my panel and the wiring now. With the panel attached with clecos to the two gussets on the side and the center support that runs from the panels to the firewall of the panel and neither the top or the sides connected to anything the bottom isn't moving much, if any at all.
