I've bought a 601 HDS kit that's nearly finished so I have a lot less experience building than most of you. The previous owner assembled without painting any of the chro-moly parts so I'm dismantling them to do that.

The 3/8" bolts that hold the landing gear to the wing have loose nuts inside the landing gear. As wellas being nearly impossible to get at the nuts are hidden by bungies. (I'm told later models have captured nuts.)

How do hold the nuts to remove the landing gear? If there is a tool to do this could you please post a photo of it as I don't know where to start.

Thanks,

Greg.

Greg,
I made a wrench that holds onto the nut, but you have to put a dab of
goop on the wrench to keep it from jiggling out during the process.
Some have added a strip pre-drilled and tapped for this job, but once or
twice having done this, it's not too bad.
