Went on the Tires Unlimited website and checked for Nanking smooth tires like I am running on my 4. They don't list them anymore and after calling he confirmed they don't have them. Anyone know who might have them? Or a similar tire. I like them and was looking for a spare.

I have a pair that I bought last year but can't find wheels to fit since I have the Cleveland wheels and brakes. I could let the two tires and two tubes go for $90 plus shipping. I believe that is what I paid for the tires alone.

The wheels shown on Dick Maddux's 'Fox:

Are certainly good looking and the tires seem to be a very pleasing low profile shape.

Why won't they fit on your Cleveland wheels?

Stop debating? But that's what science is: "The scientific community
has gone through this chapter and verse. We have long since passed
the time when we should pretend this is a 'on the one hand, on the
other hand' issue. It's not a matter of theory or conjecture, for
goodness sake."
-- Al Gore

Blame Rush: "President Obama's a good friend of mine, and I'd just
like to think about him and, you know, I know -- you know Rush
Limbaugh and a lot of jackasses give him a hard time right now. They
always trying to divide and conquer the country. They've already
ruined the country, and now he's trying to save the country, and I
want him to keep his head held high."
-- former NBA star Charles Barkley

Maybe she actually gets it: "If you are just fed up, at some point,
just lean out your window and scream, 'I'm mad as hell,' 'cause
that's what's happening to me. I'm losing my mind, because I don't
understand why -- like they -- one of the things that I saw
recently, they have this whole thing about taxing 'the wealthy.'
Okay. Now, I don't mind that. I don't mind paying a little more tax
'cause I make a good living. But I don't want to get it coming and
going. I don't want to get the federal raised and then the state
raised and then the phone tax raised and then the television tax
raised and then the city tax. Back off me!"

"[M]any of us are hoping that all those in power fail, because those
in power have a grating habit of being annoyingly self-righteous,
hopelessly corrupt, resolutely incompetent and completely apathetic
about the freedoms that they have sworn to protect. Embrace the
failure. It's patriotic."
-- columnist David Harsanyi

"Obama brags -- albeit dishonestly -- that he's only raising taxes
on rich people. Ninety-five percent of the American people will get
a tax cut, the president insists. Well, which is it? Do the times
demand shared sacrifice from us all, or from just 5 percent of
Americans? If I say to 10 co-workers, 'We all need to chip in
together to get this done,' and then say, 'So, Todd, open your
wallet and give five bucks to everyone else in the room,' it would
sound ridiculous. But when Obama says the same thing to 300 million
Americans it's called 'leadership.'"
-- columnist Jonah Goldberg

"President Obama defended his plan for higher taxes on the rich. He
is determined to level out the distribution of wealth in America. It

Thanks for the info Bob. I found them on line. I don't think the tires will last all that long and I assume the little holes in them are wear holes.(ie: when the rubber gets to the bottom of the holes, chuck them) I was trying to find a replacement source for when I reach that point. I primarily use my Nanking tires on grass with some asphalt use. I didn't want to buy a new set and hold on to them for a couple of years (if mine last that long) as rubber tires are perishable like bungees. I would rather buy fresh.

Dick,
I don't know which tires those are for sure, but I am still running my original little fat bald tires that came with my Fox in 1992. I first flew it in 1998 and now have 500+ hours on it.     Larry Huntley

Nah. They've got this stuff inside that looks like heavy cloth. When
that starts showing, that's when you chuck 'em. Wink

Larry,
I believe I have those tubes and tires you are talking about sitting in the overhead of my hanger. I took them off the Kitfox as soon as I saw the "Kingfox" tires in a picture. The tires I had/have have knobs on the side and don't look all that good so I went with the Kingfox look (much cleaner) I couldn't find the actual Kingfox tires anymore so went to the Nankang tire which everyone says is the same. I have had these almost 8 mounths now and am very happy with them. I am running them tubeless and have had no problems.

I have been considering getting new tires because I do not like the way the ones installed are wearing. I can not find any of the tires mentioned on this thread on any of the websites mentioned on this thread. Can someone help? I did find some Nanco 21x12-8 Slick ATV tires, will these work as well? The price is certainly hard to beat.

FWIW... I got this email this morning

Everyone,
After several request, MiPPi Ultralights is considering a production run of the King Fox Tundra Tire 21 x 12 x 8. These are the same tire the avaition and Ultralight community has grown to love and trust.

The cost for a set (2) tires will be $70.00 USF plus shipping.
To estimate your shipping cost go to either Fed EX or USPS shipping from zip code 48150, box size 20 x 20 x 12, weight 22 lbs.

All orders must be pre-ordered with a $10.00 USF deposit (paypal payment) required at the time of ordering.

We are planning our production run for April 20 and the tires will be ready to ship at the in May 2009.
Please forward this email to your fellow flyers. Mippi Ultralights will need to accumulate a order of 500 tires to justify the production run.

This is good news. For anyone wondering what the Mippi King Fox tires look like, here's a picture. King Fox 21 X 12 X 8 Mippi King Fox on the right, Nanco 18 X 8.5 X 8 on the left. Both mounted on stock Kitfox Douglas ATV wheels.

We have pounded them off pavement, grass, rock, snow, sand and gravel. No issues with them to date. I thought they were holding up much better than the ground off ATV tires that were originally supplied. There are a few scuff marks from the pavement, but that is it.

One must be cautious. Big tires with low inflation pressure on pavement can get to be a hand full very quickly. If all you fly off of is pavement, I would not recommend the KF tires.
