With a stock 701 and a Rotax 912 where have folks placed their battery?

I originally had put mine in front of the belly hatch on the floor but with
the CG problems I had with the BRS at the rear of the luggage compartment
(even though the numbers were OK acording to the factory specs) I moved it
up in front of the firewall. Easier to get at it there anyway. I made a
mount for it to hold it in an available space to the right of the engine.

Sounds like a good place for the battery BokKat; provided it doesn't get too
hot in the engine compartment. Can you send me picture?
I also have a 37# BRS chute that is placed behind the baggage compartment
(didn't want a shell going off right behind my head). Because of this I
needed to move the CG a little further forward. I placed my battery up high
on the firewall inside the cockpit, where feet won't get at it. Even with
the battery on the firewall, I needed to built-in a tool chest on the floor
between the seat and rudder pedals. This tool chest holds about 23# of
"stuff including extra fluids. The CG is now good and the plane flies well.
I have weighted the plane carefully several times and can still carry up to
40# in the baggage area, depending upon that else I have on-aboard, provided
the baggage is placed forward in the compartment.

On my 701 with a 912S and no BRS, I placed the battery on the floor
directly behind the copilot seat.
