Guys...

I have carelessly allowed the barb on the pitot tube connector used at
the wing root to be snapped off...these are those cute little white
nylon male/female connectors. I need a replacement. I note in the
Acft. Spruce catalog an item which APPEARS to be the right part; a P/
N 05-01036 which is listed as a fuel line connector for 1/4" tubing.

Inasmuch as the actual hole in the barb and tubing supplied w/ the kit
is only about 1/16" diameter, I question whether this size would be
appropriate for use as part of a fuel system.

Before I order the replacement part, is there anyone who can verify
that the P/N above is the correct size for the pitot system?

Thankx,

Fred

Hi Fred,

I can't confirm that it is the correct part or not, but if it turns out that it isn't then I think you can find what you need at McMaster Carr.  Take a look at:

http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/115/184/=1fnqwu

Which should be (if I haven't messed it up) page 183 of their catalog.

Also, when you get to plumbing up pitot static system I see that Stenair have some really neat connector systems.  See http://www.steinair.com/pitot.htm

Regards,  Paul

Fred C
The part is made by Colder Products Company (PC1701 and 1201 I believe) and I stock them in sets as I go through them like water and use them many more places.  Some additional uses are: the manifold line C alternate static sources C Dynon pitot tubes where I build them on to a panel for convenient access C altitude encoder for testing C etc.

Everybody should have a spare set and a spare static end for the pitot.  Good insurance.

They are about $5.00 a set.
email me off line and I can get you some.
