Has anyone out there had a prop lock string retainer come off with engine running ? This happened to my TPE 331 -10 . It appears that the spring pressure and centrifugal force of the retainer was all pressing against the cotter pin .The pin sheared off and the spring and retain fell out of my spinner as the engine ran down ….cotter pin was cad plated ,should it be stainless??? Thanks guys. Good reason to go for a flight to burn up most of the fuel from the center tank before draining in to jugs. Randy.

Drain the tank, you don't want to fool around with combustibles under your loved possession.
