All,
The June issue of the Lightning Newsletter is now available and is posted on the Lightning web site at: http://flylightning.net/
It should also be posted at Jim Langley's web site at: http://www.jimslightning.com/html/home.html

This issue leads off with an article on Test Flying Your Homebuilt Aircraft - an expanded version of the FAA's phase one flight test requirement. I have shared it with some of you in the past and many have suggested that it should be published for all to use. Also included in this issue is the latest list of kits sold, plus an article on Katie Bosman that appeared in the 99s Magazine (you might even see a photo of World Record Earl in that article). You will also see the latest Safety mod that Johnny Thompson has developed to prevent static electricity problems like he encountered.

As always, I appreciate any and all feedback. The newsletter needs your comments and inputs in order to improve and remain useful to the group. Send anything you want considered for the newsletter directly to me. I have already started on the July issue, so NOW is the time to send your inputs.

On another note, this Saturday and Sunday is the Virginia Regional Fly-In. The new ASTM certified LS-1 Lightning will be on display (and giving demo rides) as well as one of the Green Landings Lightnings. So jump in your flying machine (or road vehicle) and head for Suffolk Airport (KSFQ) in Virginia. You will get a chance to see some great airplanes and talk to some really smart people (Pete, Nick, Ryan & others). Doug K-berg and I will also be there.

Blue Skies,
Buz

I think I am being insulted, but I am not sure how.

Maybe it will become clear after a beer or two. You know they say that alcohol kills brain cells, so the weak ones should go first, leaving only the strong brain cells. Should help both of us.

Buz,

As always, a great newsletter with a lot of very useful and informative
material, BUT terrible timing! Just yesterday I glued in my fuel filler
rings. Now I see Johnny Thompson's article on grounding the fuel caps.
I live in a dry climate too, and have generated some good sparks just
wiping off sanding dust. Oviously, static is a real issue. I'd be
interested in learning how to ground the air frame, too.
