Anyone flying to Oshkosh this year or traveling thru the Davenport Quad
Cities area should be advised to consider the following item on
Davenport Airport (DVN)
Yesterday, a fellow RV-12 builder was going to fly into Davenport with
his RV-10. He called Carver Aero and inquired about the newly imposed
"landing fee" imposed at Davenport. He was informed that there would
not be "landing fee" or a "tie-down fee". BUT, there would be a $25
"handling fee" if fuel is not purchased. He was initially informed that
the minimum would be 25 gallons. He has flown all over the country in
the RV-10 and cannot think of any airport with a fee as large as this
for someone who wants to park on the ramp for 2-3 hours. $25 is quite
steep and will most likely drive visitors away from the Davenport area
as opposed to attracting any new visitors.
Wanted to ensure no one is surprised!
