Warning for those living North of the border:

After having placed an order last night, and having it confirmed by email, I just received a note from MacMaster, stating that "due to the ever increasing complexity of United States export regulations, McMaster-Carr will only process orders from a few long-established customers in Canada."

They could have placed a notice on the web site, but they let your order go through, confirm it, and only then they check your address. Aggravating.

What's worse, I don't think there is comparable source of tools and materials... Or is there?

				Hi Carlos,

Travers Tool is a great source of cutting tools and the like. Also take a look at MSC industrual supply.

Alas, McMaster is the best there is IMHO for wide assortment of materials, fasteners, etc.

				Hi Carlos,

I'm happy to recommend MSC. I've received excellent service from
them on many occasions. I usually buy cutting tools (like hand
reamers) from them. They have many warehouses, but I don't know how
close any of them are to Montreal. I live on the other side of the world.

I placed an order with MSC yesterday. At first sight, they seem to be comparable to MacMaster, in terms of stock variety.
