I meant to write a little blurb. My text was deleted by accident.
Look for the next email.

I picked up my RV from Plane Plastics in Alva Oklahoma a couple of weeks ago. I had dropped it to them two months ago to create the prototype vacuum molded side panels.
The interior includes front kick panels, under-door panels, rear side panels, baggage side panel and baggage door cover. JD at Plane Plastic did an excellent job of creating and fitting the panels in spite of working in the cramped cockpit environment and a completed plane. I really don't know how he did it!
I am very pleased with the fit and finish of the panels as they completely cover the exposed rivets and hardware. A group of 6 judges at the airport gave the job an overall B+ score.
The judges and myself, including JD, agree that the front fresh air vents should be incorporated into the design and the notch for the front air vents should disappear. The airport experts also wished that the headset plugs had a home on the panel design. JD told me that improvements will be incorporated in future parts.
Plane Plastic also did the carpeting for the plane and is another source for purchasing ready to go carpets.
Speak to JD or Chris if you need further information.

I just got some pictures of my interior panels installed in the airplane.
They fit very nice and are easy to install. They cover all the ugly structure
and seem to give it a nice finished look. I still have some items to install
but so far I am very happy with the results.

Ron
The trim out on the windows is a black edge trim piece that goes over my
headliner edge. I started by laying up 2 layers of 6oz
fiberglass in the canopy cover and then when the fiberglass was in the green
stage were it is very easy to trim I trimmed it exactly
To my window cut out which was already trimmed to size. I then trimmed them
to fit to the canopy top once it was installed. I then covered the
fiberglass head liner pieces with actual headliner material. I then
installed the edge trim over the head liner material and fiberglass.
It is held in place with a combination of Velcro, front seat belt shoulder
harness bolt and the baggage compartment bulk head cover. It does finish off
the window very nice. I was surprised myself how well it worked once
installed. I had my doubts at first. I only have about 4-5 hrs in both
sides.

Geoff is a little modest. I've seen these panels installed in his RV-10.
They look fantastic!
Also, I saw the mold for his new overhead console last week as he was
getting ready to run the first batch. The overhead is significantly lighter
(carbon fiber versus fiberglass) and resolves the air leak problems (access
panels have seals) when compared to the fiberglass overheads that have been
made by Accuracy Avionics, Redmond Air, and NonStop Aviation.
Shameless Plug: For those that weren't aware, Geoff sells these through
several vendors as well as his own web site, www.aerosportproducts.com.
I also put a couple videos of his RV-10 and one of the CNC machine cutting
the instrument panel mold on his web site.

Hi Geoff,
Did you do your own interior or if not where did you get it? It really looks nice. Also same question for the black door trim you have installed.

Wayne I did do my own interior. As for the black door edge that is the stuff from McMaster carr that people are using for the RV-10 door seals. I made my edges wider than most are using.
I used the 1/4" edge seals.
