I have the vans stall warning wired to one of the optional inputs on the AFS. So I hear the "Beep" in my headsets. AFS will not allow selection of the "Push Push" audio file for any of the general purpose inputs. AFS does not recommend this on the basis that software may not respond very quickly to the switch input, but it worked well for me. One would have to ignore a bunch of inputs from the airframe to the seat of the pants to get too far along in the stall.Jim C (40192 - N312F Flying)--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Gotta go with Rene and others on this one...it costs nothing, and comeswith the kit. I have a stall annunciator on my panel...can't hear the hornbut when the AFS says push push then the red light flashes then your buttshakes and then you stall...you have no excuses for killingyourself...pretty blunt but give me/us a real good reason "not" to have anadditional stall warning.. I see the light steady just prior to the mainssqueaking on the runway....l recommend you. take the little time required and put it in....can't hurt.. and it is how the aircraft is designed. Itwill .only help...my 2 cents worth as they say...besides it give yousomething to describe...everyone asks what it is...Rick Sked70 hours and risingN246RSSent via BlackBerry by AT&T--

FWIW, I have had to service a tab type stall warning vane exactly once
in 34 years of aircraft ownership, first aircraft being over 30 years
old when I got it, and same for second aircraft... having the oem stall
warner. Micro switch got dirty and required removal to douse it with
contact cleaner until it started working again. That was 10 years ago
and still working. Yes, I have a few scars from it. OTOH, my RV-10
elevator trailing edge put a wound in my thigh that is still healing and
required patching of jeans.

Maintenance. Everything you add to your aircraft requires routine and
breakdown maintenance. I already have two electronic reminders besides
the stick buffet; I chose not to add another to avoid checking its
operation before each flight and fixing it when it does not work.
