Be aware that many octane boosters are in fact alcohol or at least contain it. Sea foam was recommended in my Rotax engine class but upon investigation I found out it also contains alcohol(don't know how much) I have been using Lucas brand octane booster when I have to use old gas(over 3 weeks) in addition to my nomal Marine Sta-Bil (green color) It does not contain alcohol and appears to work well. Their other products are very good.
My two cents.

Dick,
Didn't know they made a Marine grade Sta-bil. Thanks for the info. Will look for it. Things are getting pretty nasty over by Gulf Shores & Perdido. What a mess!

I am also going to start using the marine Stabil. I have been using the regular Stabil for years. I put it in my gas as soon as I get it, even if I think I’m going to use the gas right away. I do check the carb bowls on my 912s and I have not seen any varnishing. Sometimes my gas my be over 3 months old. I have never had any problems.
