,

Like the new video. Didn't know you had a 4-blade prop. Do you get
concerned when it stops and turns backwards?

Larry,
Nice job on the video.
Thanks for sharing the flight down with us homebound pilots that week.
The paint job looks fantastic too.
I just can't say enough about the tail cam setup....very cool way to share the flight experience.
I now come home with a digital camera and show the wife my day of flying, but a video like yours would show the flying too......Thanks again for doing that and sharing with us.

Yeah, sorry I couldn't make it. Made use of the lousy wx by getting some
other things done around the house. I did get to fly at sunset though. Wx
was still low to the immediate SE, but elsewhere it was nice and smooth.

Thanks. I like the tailcam too. Although lately I've thought of upgrading
it to something more hi-res. That would mean operating on the fiberglass
tip that's already painted. That's a good reason NOT to do it!

Larry,

What are you *considering* for higher resolution??

I am thinking about putting one in the RV6A that I am building, even though
the cap is rivetted on! I **knew** I should have done nutplates.

I haven't shopped hard for one in a couple months, but this is the one I
looked at last. It's a couple steps above what I have already, and they
have a variety of lenses & filters available.

Looks interesting.

Especially since there are multiple lense options.

Len,

I am going to be looking into this prety soon as well.

Maybe we can approach it at the same time. One thing yu **MIGHT** want to do
now while your plane is down is to make sure that the rudder cap is
removeable via screws and nutplates. Mine current is rivetted in and I need
to address that.

I just started construction on my -7 empennage yesterday and I'm interested
in the tail cam as well. Is there anything I should do now to make it easier
to wire later, besides the removable rudder cap?

Len and James......well, Larry too.......
My fiberglass top of the vertical stab is mounted permanently too...
isn't there another place to mount a cam that would be cool too...
Dan C......has one mounted in the cockpit somewhere, seems like that would
be worlds easier to do as well. You would see what the pilot sees.
Don't get me wrong........Larry's is the coolest thing I've ever seen, but
easier would be ok with me. Heck......I still can't program my VCR........

I have a mount for camera in the RV6. It is OK but not the same as what
Larry has.

I think having the vertical stab mount as an option is the best way. You can
always do the inside the cockpit later.

You might consider enlarging the tooling holes in the VS a little and
installing some grommets or snap bushings. Leaving string in there to pull
wires through isn't necessary. You can feed it through with some hinge pin
just as easy.

I think the VS mount is primo, but others would be fun to experiment with
too. Wingtip, landing light, wheel pant, HS, etc.

My biggest regret on the VS mounting is not making it more serviceable. The
tip is removeable, but the camera is mounted in microballons. Makes
upgrading or tweaking (I think my focus is a little off...) difficult to say
the least.

Larry,

Are you going to put one in the wing tip or stay with the vert stab tip?
My wingtips are removeable and are the old style without the light lens
on the tip, so that would be a logical place to put it. I did see a
video done by some guy in Europe that made a removable pod that he
fitted over the wing leading edge and centered the video on his canopy.
It made some great pictures. Maybe you could design a pod that gives
the option of shooting forward or sideways! Lots of possibilities.
