				Hi to all,

I'm new here and have been really looking into the europa. After watching the kitplanes video (awesome) I started gathering info on this plane. Could a person use the europa xs tri-gear to obtain his pilots license. I have 35 hours between a c152, c172 and kolb mk3 ultralight. I really had my mind set on the rv6/6a but after reading up on the europa and it's great fuel economy/performance/useful load I'm unsure now. Are many people using the 1450lbs gross? What is the cockpit width? I'm 6' and 220 lbs. I'm not sure how I feel about composites either. I'm looking at one with a 914. BTW, I'm from central alberta, canada and if there is anyone flying one that is within driving range please let me know, I would love to see it in person and try it on for size.

 Thanks,

 Tony

Tony, I am selling my Europa tri-gear taildragger. In the US you can use it
to take lessons and such if you just insure the instructor on your
 policy as I did.
Do you want more info about my plane?

I tried you email address below but it seems to be blocked, (getting postmaster failures)

 Thanks,
 RS

				Tony,

Frank Wood has or had a Europa based in Alberta, Lethbridge I think,
I may be able to dig up a contact for him.
My aircraft is registered at 1390 gross. I'm 6' if I think big and my
passenger is 220 lbs if he thinks small, we manage to fit with a
 reasonable degree of comfort.
I think you will be able to build up time in the aircraft if you can
 find a willing instructor.
As for composites, take a trip to your nearest glider club, sailplane
enthusiasts know there is only one material to use for aircraft.

 Regards,

Dave C-FBZI, 912S Trigear in Ontario

Thanks for all the quick responses! What is the cockpit width at the shoulders? What does it cost to rebuild the 914?

				Hi Guys,

Sorry about the email problem. We just moved so we had to change service providers and of course email. Anyways, here is my new email,

 albertaflyer(at)gmail.com

Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

I guess my biggest concern is that I want to be able to purchase an aircraft that I can afford to fly, yet still have all the other traits I'm looking for. The europa seems to fit the bill pretty well.
