I’m no techie, especially on 914s but, doesn’t black deposit on plugs indicate running rich? And since it seems to be a small deposit on normally- brown, would this not infer
the latest change – i.e: cause?

hi Ferg!
It would be my understanding that any plug analysis only indicates the mixture condition for the last couple minutes of running - likely during the taxi phase.
