I saw at the LAA rally a europa that had been painted with the flying controls on (ie, the screws were painted as well. I had thought it was essential to disassemble. Does anyone have any advice on this? I would cover the screw slots.

Hi Graeme,
Paint first with hinges covered in tape, balance if applicable, mount to flying surface with new shiny screws of your choice. At least that's what I did.
