 Johann, check to make sure that the enrichener arms are seating correctly in the off position.  I had a similar issue with my engine.  Ine of the gurus from Lockwood pointed out to me that since the enrichener circuit is not a choke, it actually causes a LEAN condition at higher RPMs.
