I have one. The GNS 5870 MFI. Works great. Turn it on and pair it with
the iPad and it works with all GPS enabled apps. Great battery life,
but it probably won't make it from China to the US. It is a little bit
bigger than a Bic lighter. The DV windows in the Hawker have a spring
loaded handle and it is just thick enough that I can stick it
underneath the handle and it never loses signal. The receiver works
well enough that I can get a position fix in the basement of my house.
I do have some issues with the on/off switch. You swipe your finger
over it and it does not work every time. Have to hit the reset switch
with a paper clip every once in a while. I have a message into the
manufacturer to determine if the unit is defective or needs a software
update.
