HI KIDS.I have a pair of GO-480 G1B6s for sale. Logs say 750SMOH????? These engines were removed from 560E N6000N and I have given them a 100hr inspection. $8000 for the pair. Call me, they have, well, a history. I think they are OK engines. I flew them about 40hrs. jb
Tylor.Were you able to reach Jerry Kent?? Did you buy the GSO-480s???

JB,NO, I have not found a phone number to contact him.
I looked at 8468C that is sitting at French Valley, Ca for the last 5 years.
The oil has drained into the engine since there is no oil in the tanks.
I have a bunch of photos.

Hello All,
Sometimes, I really do wonder why I bother with my hobby.
I feel sure that I’ve asked for sightings of Commanders that seem to be out of use, and photographs, but nobody seems to care.

I am so sorry Barry. I will send you some pix of N6000N as she looked after I removed the engines. I so look forward to reading your posts. I am going to check out a 520 Commander in Hillsboro again. I looked at her a few years ago and passed on buying her. Since then I have acquired a pair of great propellers that would put her back into service. I will take some pix of her if I can run her down again. Now that my phone takes pix, it should be easy. PLEASE keep up the wonderful work. You are the world expert on Commanders! jb

Well, that may be the case, but from where I’m sitting, it most certainly doesn’t seem to be.
Quite often I ask questions and there’s no reply. That’s zilch, zero, rien, nichts, nada – whatever language is used.
On more than one occasion, I’ve asked that if anybody sees a Commander, please photograph it and send it to me.
Probably had less than 10 in all these years.
So, as I said, “what’s the point?
Bert Berry and myself spend countless hundreds of hours trying to identify Commanders from photographs that we garner from all corners of the World.
Little point in trying if we haven’t got up-to-date shots to compare them with.

Great job Barry ! I didn`t know you were collecting photo`s of commanders .What is your postal address . I`ll send you a picture of N-6418-Q a 680 commander based in Murfreesboro , Tn .I bought it in Sept. 2005 . It is a fine airplane . I`m trying to find a good painter , if you have any suggestions let me know . I have put a new interior in and now need to paint the exterior .The engines have about 425 hours and runs great . Positive Influences and their force upon others is never revealed totally and are accurately unknown as to how much good they are sharing . Of course, I can only speak for myself when I tell you I became a commander owner partly because of information I obtained from you (1994). Without that information I may still be an owner of one of the lesser machines. I have now owned three commanders and still have the 1957 560E I purchased in 1994. I attended the 2004 Fly-In, Kansas City, to meet you, show my commander and tell you how grateful I was for your contributions in helping me obtain my airplane. Even though our contact may not be on a daily basis, knowing you are "there" is a tremendous source of information unequaled.

Berry,I was in CA last week with Moe. We tried to move his 680FP back to NM but weather stopped us.
I had to fly back on SWA.
I did stop in at 4 different airports.
I will post a gallery on line so you can see and down load them.

BARRY...........You should have the pix of N6000N, if not, let me know and I will forward them again. Sue will send a pix of each of the 5 Commanders I took to the A&P school last year. They are in the slide show we show each year at dinner, but I don't think I sent them to you, sorry.
N6000N last flew about 12-2009 and was removed from service on Oct 12-2010. The remains of the airframe and paperwork were transferred to Northeast Air (A Twin Commander service center) in Portland Maine. Don't know why they wanted her????
There is a straight 680 rotting in Nampa Idaho (N985RA I think). It has been grounded by the FAA and will likely never fly again. I shouldl be there next week on a delivery and snap some pix and send them. XOXOXO Love, jb

NO, I have not found a phone number to contact him.
I looked at 8468C that is sitting at French Valley, Ca for the last 5 years.
The oil has drained into the engine since there is no oil in the tanks.
I have a bunch of photos.

They were removed from a 560E, N6000N. The engines were in regular use until Dec of 09. I ground ran them in Oct and they ran great. I have done a 100 hr insp on them. Call me at 360-903-6901

Bert and I will be interested in any photos.
Why not submit them to Nico for either the Aero Commander website or the Facebook page he’s just created?
So long as we can download good-sized .jpg images, it should work just fine.

I was in CA last week with Moe. We tried to move his 680FP back to NM but weather stopped us.
I had to fly back on SWA.
I did stop in at 4 different airports.
I will post a gallery on line so you can see and down load them.

No images have been received of N6000N.
I do have a B&W image of it when it was with DEC Aviation Corp., way back in 1962/3.
If Sue can forward them again, plus any of the 5 you ferried to the A&P school, Iāll be most grateful and I can then forward them to Bert.
Which one of those was involved in the ādeer-strikeā ?

BARRY...........You should have the pix of N6000N, if not, let me know and I will forward them again. Sue will send a pix of each of the 5 Commanders I took to the A&P school last year. They are in the slide show we show each year at dinner, but I don't think I sent them to you, sorry.
N6000N last flew about 12-2009 and was removed from service on Oct 12-2010. The remains of the airframe and paperwork were transferred to Northeast Air (A Twin Commander service center) in Portland Maine. Don't know why they wanted her????
There is a straight 680 rotting in Nampa Idaho (N985RA I think). It has been grounded by the FAA and will likely never fly again. I shouldl be there next week on a delivery and snap some pix and send them. XOXOXO Love, jb
