Dave,

You are correct. The corvair stock cylider size
is 87.2998mm. If you get an RPM drop on the Rotax at
84mm, we probably would on the Corvair with two spark
plugs. Thank you for chiming in. I sit corrected...

R/

Brandon

Dave and all,

I've operated a Rotax 912UL (80HP) for over 500hrs. I recently experienced
the situation described. The engine would not shut down. After trouble
shooting (swapping switches and grounding circuits) I decided the problem
was an "OPEN" of the grounding circuit inside one of the very expensive
Ignition Modules.

The fine folks at Lockwood advised that there was a way of fixing this
without replacing the ignition module. The remedy was to run one more wire
into the cockpit and just break into the "Charging Coil" (Red) wire going to
the defective Ignition Module. Just had to reverse the switch so that "UP"
now "closed" the circuit instead of "breaking" it. Works great. Saved many
hundreds of dollars.
