Hi All:
I want to buy a 6 gal plastic gas tank for a Kitfox II. It still has the original, aluminum gas tank, and it already failed (flying). I tried to contact wingtanks.com and airdale.com with no success. Do any of you know where I can buy this tank.

I had a couple of aluminum tanks in my Avid B that started to leak. I sealed them with KBS Coating's tank sealer. It seemed to work fine, but I sold the plane not long after so I don't really have a long history on it to point to. That's the first thing I would try rather than tear into the wing. If it doesn't work out, then I would cut the wing open. My tanks were leaking at the seams, there were no cracks in them, and the sealant should work good on seams if that is your problem also. Jose, I have a left sided six gallon tank that came with my Model IV kit that I did not use. I would sell for $250.00

Lane:
Wings (camber) are different on Model II and IV. This tank will not fit. I'm looking for right side tank.

Dave, Lane, Av8r3400 and Jim:
The tank was fixed three years by welding. It has been used since then with no problem. However, the wing is open again, and I think a plastic tank will be the safer way to go if available. I will try to reach Brett at Airdale.
