I'm looking at ways to route wires down from the grips and out the bottom of the Y stick so that they don't kink, get pinched or chaffed. Since my 701 isn't rigged a related question is how much the stick can actually move fore and aft and side to side when the control surfaces are actually connected.
Ideally the wires could exit at the pivot to minimize the relative movement between the moving section in the stick and the fixed portion on the fuselage. Alternatively if I bring the wires out the bottom I'll need a large loop to provide enough slack for the stick to more to all extremes.
I won't have a lot of wires: pilot and copilot PTT, trim up/down and ground. Maybe a spare wire for a bomb release, JATO fire, smoke, wipers, gear retract, "No smoking" sign, seat massage/heater, espresso machine, flight attendant call button, etc.
Any advice (and pictures) welcome.

I ranthem out the bottom of the stick, then into the Tunnel and on.......I had pilot/opilot PTT’s. frequency flip flop and wires for electric trim but it didn’t take that much of a loop at the bottomof the stick. Yes, you can see wires coming out of it, but they are not in the way and safe from stpping on it, etc. Hardly noticable, really.

I drilled a small hole in the rear of the Y-stick where I wanted the wires to come out. I used a grommet to keep the wire from rubbing against the metal.
It worked well.

I drilled a hole at the back of the "Y" stick so that the wires came out into the front of the torque tube. I drilled a small hole in the side of the torque tube aft of the seat front and brought the wires out into the tunnel. From there I ran them under the passenger seat and up the the intercomm in the panel. Yes of course, gromets on all of the holes.
One thing to be sure of!!!
If you are using the Zenith/ Aeroflash strobes, make sure that you keep as much physical distance as possible between any of the cableing to the intercomm (audio, power, or PTT) and the power leads to you strobe packs. Ask me how I "tzott, tzott, tzott," know.
