Do I need controls and canopy yet?

As the work on my wings is progressing, I'm getting
ready to place my order for the fuselage and landing
gear kits. Is there any reason why I need to order
the canopy kit or the controls kit yet? Can they wait
until I'm well into the fuselage, or will I regret not
having them earlier?
Thanks for any advise.

Rich, I ordered the controls kit right after the wings kit so that I could
get the aileron cables tied to the bellcranks before I closed the wings.

You definitely need the controls kit as you build the fuselage. I wish I had hat the control cables when I built the wings. I'm quite sure it will be real fun installing the cables with the wings closed up.

Installed the controls cables after the wings were finished. No major
problem. Just tape the cable to a long pole or broom handle, and stick the
cable though the correct lightening hole. No probs. Having said that, I
would still purchase the controls kit earlier in the process. Canopy can
wait.

That's pretty much what I've got planned. Looking back though it would have been nice to do while the wing was sitting open on my work bench.
